Bariloche, Argentina

We stayed in town in Bariloche all last week.  Danny and the kids had a great time. I was still feeling a little sick, so I spent a lot of the week resting and reading.  After a few days I was feeling much better; I think I was just exhausted on top of that weird bug the kids had before.

In Bariloche, we explored in town a bit- found their famous ice cream shop Jauja, sat down to a big lunch of fondue, and walked the streets.  Danny and the kids spent a day on the lake at Playa Bonita, they took the gondola up to hike around Cerro Catedral, and enjoyed a lot of time playing in the wooden treehouse at the end of our block.  We stayed in a little cabin on a deadend street, which felt like good old Lincoln Avenue, where the kids could play at the end of the block and run and back and forth from our little yard.  We went out to breakfast one morning and the kids we're pleasantly surpsrised to find only the sweetest treats on the menu to eat with our tea and coffee.  So far Bariloche has been pretty great.

Here are some photos from last week.
Here are the ashes plowed to the side of the road from the volcano in Chile.  This photo is from the bus ride across the border into Argentina.
