One of the hardest thing we've found traveling has been all the time we've spent planning for the next leg of the trip. Many times the planning and preparation comes at the expense of actually enjoying and living in the place at which we currently inhabit. I'm not saying we should have hired a travel agent or anything, I just didn't realize before that so much time would be spent reading reviews on Tripadvisor and thumbing through our Lonely Planet book.
While we are happy with all the areas we've seen and we've got too much FOMO (fear of missing out) not to continue at our current pace, the next time we up and leave our life for an extended period we are going to settle down in one place and really get to know it.
This has been one of my very few regrets of our trip.
