Feliz Cumpleaños a Danny!

Birthday dinner

Danny celebrated his 42nd birthday a while back.  Harper and Cal started it out, giving him their cards while he was still in bed and then we gave him his gift- a french press full of hot coffee.  Qué rico!  We had a big breakfast of cherry pancakes and then set out on our wild goose chase of a hike.  We took the funicular up to the Parque Metropolitano and tried to go to the pool.  After an hour of walking (we were just kind of winging it on the directions instead of consulting the map that we didn't bring with us) we gave up on the pool and just had our picnic lunch instead.  Harper chose to pack our family's new favorite sandwiches- peanut butter and nutella.  Yum.

After the kids both took a nap at home (!) we swam upstairs on the roof, had dinner and then sang happy birthday with cake and ice cream while the sun was setting.  It was a great evening on the roof.  Feliz cumpleaños!
